Ведь он вручную подбирал одинаковые пропорции для портретов, распечатывал их, разрывал так как ему было нужно и склеивал - точность была очень важна. Даже не представляю как он умудрялся так точно совмещать два портрета, но эффект слияния получился полный. Адамс начал со своего портрета и сделал в такой же технике целую серию портретов, которые назвал "Возрастные карты".

Просто удивительно, как люди остаются абсолютно теми же, что и в детстве - та же улыбка, тот же взгляд и лишь слегка меняются пропорции лица.
